15-hour Basic Course
- One-on-one tutoring in 10, 1.5 hour sessions
- Concentration on skills in math, grammar, reading comprehension and test taking
- Focus on new test taking strategies and skills to showcase abilities and achieve higher SAT and ACT test scores
- Tutoring available in A+ Tutoring offices or in the family home (Parents must be present for home sessions)
20-hour Deluxe Course
- For students with weak fundamental skills in math, grammar, reading comprehension and test taking
- Recommended for students who have difficulty studying on their own and find it impossible to commit to more homework
- Extra time provided to bolster and practice fundamentals, with drills in problem areas
Vocabulary Development and Reading Comprehension
- Verbal scores on the SAT and ACT are boosted in Reading and Science Reasoning
- Vocabulary skills are enhanced by learning words with related meanings (synonyms, word families and cognates)
- Context and relationship are stressed with word prefixes, suffixes, root words, Latin and Greek origins and making analogies
- A+ Tutoring techniques also apply to reading comprehension, producing effi cient and effective reading and study habits
- Skills are essential for high ACT/SAT scores and extremely valuable study skills apply to regular homework assignments
- The course is available to 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders
- Twelve 1-hour sessions are repeated until students attain the achievement level desired. In each 12-hour block, students learn 500 new words and study four reading comprehension techniques.
